BREEDING 2027

Individual evaluation.

The aim is to identify matings that make sense.

Every mating begins with the mare.

Selection starts with the individual horse.

A breeding decision is never based on Stallion Kamyar® alone.

The mare is evaluated as an individual — with consideration of her pedigree, maternal family, conformation, movement and functional qualities, temperament, breeding history where available, health status, breeding fitness and the objective behind the proposed mating.

The question is not whether a mare is simply “good enough”. The question is whether the specific combination of mare and stallion is meaningful from a breeding perspective.

For that reason, every nomination is reviewed individually before any breeding arrangement is considered.

Selection Criteria

A meaningful pairing requires more than pedigree alone.

Each mare is considered as an individual and in relation to the proposed mating with Stallion Kamyar®.

The evaluation may include:

  • Pedigree and bloodline context
  • Maternal family
  • Identification and registration data
  • Conformation and overall type
  • Movement and functional qualities
  • Temperament and individual characteristics
  • Previous breeding history, where available
  • Health status and breeding fitness
  • Available veterinary and breeding-related records
  • Breeding objective
  • Current location of the mare
  • Overall suitability of the pairing

No single criterion determines the decision on its own. The decisive factor is the overall assessment of the proposed mating, including the welfare of the horses involved.

Health & Breeding Fitness

Breeding suitability includes health.

Before covering, a current veterinary confirmation of the mare’s health status and breeding fitness must be provided.

Depending on the individual pairing and veterinary assessment, further examinations or documentation may be required, particularly with regard to infectious and hereditary conditions.

The type, recency and scope of the required veterinary documentation will be communicated before the covering date and recorded in the individual breeding agreement.

The applicable requirements relating to animal welfare, animal health and breeding law, together with the professional assessment of the veterinarians involved, shall be decisive.

Natural Service

Breeding 2027 is exclusively by natural service.

For the 2027 breeding season, DF Kamyar / Stallion Kamyar® will be offered exclusively for natural service.

No regular offering of fresh, chilled or frozen semen is intended or authorised for the 2027 breeding season.

Covering will generally take place following the personal presentation of the accepted mare at an agreed location and time.

Details concerning travel, accommodation, supervision, handling, veterinary care and transport will be coordinated in advance.

Natural service therefore forms part of an individual breeding arrangement in which suitability, timing, practical organisation and the welfare of the horses involved are considered together.

Stallion Kamyar® | Selective International Breeding

DF Kamyar / Stallion Kamyar® stands at the centre of a selective breeding concept that also considers carefully chosen international partnerships.

For suitable international enquiries, selected studs and breeders may request a temporary deployment of DF Kamyar / Stallion Kamyar® at the mare’s location within the framework of an individually agreed breeding arrangement.

Particular consideration is given to breeding programmes involving Egyptian Arabian mares as well as suitable Anglo-Arabian breeding programmes incorporating English Thoroughbred mares.

Every international shuttle enquiry is reviewed individually. Any possible deployment is subject to applicable studbook and veterinary requirements, suitable transport and accommodation conditions, animal welfare considerations and the availability of the stallion.

Any additional costs arising from an agreed international deployment — including transport, required examinations, official documentation, insurance and care — shall be borne by the mare owner in accordance with the cost arrangements agreed in advance.

A temporary international deployment requires a separate express agreement. No obligation to carry out such a deployment arises until that agreement has been concluded.

How the Nomination Process Works

A clear process from first enquiry to breeding decision.

1. Submit the mare

Provide the mare’s basic data, year of birth, identification and registration information, full pedigree and maternal family, owner and contact details, current location, recent photographs and — where available — movement videos, information on conformation and characteristics, breeding history where available, breeding objective and any available veterinary or breeding-related documentation.

2. Individual review

The submitted information is reviewed professionally and individually in relation to Stallion Kamyar®.

Additional documentation or a personal discussion may form part of the selection process.

The outcome of the review will be communicated to the enquiring mare owner in a timely manner.

3. Health and organisation

Following a positive preliminary assessment, the required veterinary documentation, covering location, time window and practical arrangements are coordinated.

Where the mare is accepted, the organisational and contractual details are then agreed individually.

4. Breeding agreement

A binding breeding arrangement is concluded only on the basis of a separate individually agreed contract between the parties.

Submitting a nomination is a non-binding enquiry. It does not create a reservation, an entitlement to a covering date or an entitlement to conclude a breeding contract.

Maximum 12 Selected Mares

Deliberately limited. Individually selected.

For the 2027 breeding season, DF Kamyar / Stallion Kamyar® is intended to be available to no more than twelve selected mares.

This number is a maximum, not a quota that must be filled. Fewer mares may be accepted if the proposed pairings do not meet the required breeding criteria.

There is no entitlement to acceptance of a particular mare and no entitlement to the full allocation being filled.

The limitation reflects the breeding philosophy behind Stallion Kamyar®: the quality and suitability of the proposed pairing take priority over quantity.

Breeding Terms Overview

Clear conditions before breeding takes place.

Following acceptance of a mare, the relevant conditions will be set out in a separate individual breeding agreement before conclusion of the contract.

The agreement may include, in particular:

  • Identity of the mare and assignment to the 2027 breeding season
  • Covering location and covering period
  • Performance of natural service and, where applicable, the number of coverings
  • Breeding fee, due date, payment terms and any additional costs
  • Health documentation and veterinary requirements
  • Transport, accommodation and responsibilities for handling
  • Arrangements in the event of postponement, veterinary reasons, interruption or failure
  • Any provisions regarding repeat covering, pregnancy checks and breeding documentation
  • Special arrangements for international deployment, where applicable

Acceptance applies exclusively to the agreed mare and the agreed breeding season.

Nominate Your Mare

A meaningful pairing starts with the right question.

If you believe your mare could be a suitable match for Stallion Kamyar®, we invite you to submit her for individual review.

Each nomination is considered on its own merits, with attention to pedigree, maternal family, conformation, characteristics, health status, breeding objective and the overall suitability of the proposed pairing.

Submitting a nomination is a non-binding enquiry. It does not constitute a reservation, acceptance, covering appointment or breeding contract and does not create an entitlement to a covering date or to the conclusion of a breeding agreement.
