Kamyar on Film
More than a subject. A presence on screen.
Kamyar’s impact on film is not based on movement alone. His expression, composure and responsiveness give him a distinct visual presence in front of the camera.
That presence allows him to become more than the subject of an equestrian film. His reactions, timing and character contribute to the narrative itself.
What makes his screen presence compelling is its authenticity. Kamyar does not appear as a trained performance animal; he remains recognisably himself — attentive, expressive and emotionally present within the scene.

EQUINALE – Where it began
The first festival recognition that opened the international path.
EQUINALE was the first festival at which Stallion Kamyar® received major recognition.
That early success helped build the confidence to present the project internationally — including entries and recognition across the USA, France, India, Dubai, Oman and Qatar.
As one of the very few specialised horse film festivals worldwide, EQUINALE holds a special place in Kamyar’s film history.
In a LebenslustTV® interview, Nile Pils, founder of EQUINALE, speaks about the festival and the award presentation connected with Stallion Kamyar®.

EQUINALE was the first important festival milestone for Stallion Kamyar®.
The recognition received there marked the beginning of a broader international journey and encouraged further submissions to specialised and international film festivals.
For that reason, EQUINALE remains a foundational part of Kamyar’s film history.

FROM GERMANY TO THE UNITED STATES
The next major milestone in Kamyar’s film journey.
Following Stallion Kamyar®’s first major festival success at EQUINALE, festival founder Nile Pils encouraged the project to take the next step internationally and helped open the connection to the EQUUS Film & Arts Fest in the United States.
Stallion Kamyar® was accepted into the 2023 EQUUS festival programme and presented as an international equestrian film production directed by Bastian Lee Jones.
The journey proved successful: the project received a 2023 WINNIE Award, adding an important U.S. recognition to Kamyar’s growing film history.
EQUINALE gave the project its first major confidence. EQUUS confirmed that the story could travel internationally.
That recognition became another catalyst for submitting the project to festivals and competitions in further international markets, including India, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Türkiye and France.

Music & Film
A visual story shaped by original composition.
The film story of Stallion Kamyar® is closely connected with the music of Bastian Lee Jones.
The original symphonic composition was created specifically around Kamyar’s presence, movement and character, giving the film its own musical identity rather than relying on generic background music.
The soundtrack became part of the project’s festival recognition and helped shape the distinctive cinematic language of the Stallion Kamyar® films.

KAMYAR AS BEST ACTOR
More than a subject on screen.
At the Buddha International Film Festival in March 2024, Stallion Kamyar® was honoured with the award Best Actor – Short Film.
For us, this was one of the most remarkable recognitions in Kamyar’s film journey. It meant that his presence was perceived not only as beautiful or striking, but as genuinely expressive — strong enough to carry emotion and narrative on screen.
Kamyar was never trained as a conventional film animal. What made the difference was his authenticity: his alertness, composure and the quiet intensity with which he engages with his surroundings.
A true screen presence does not need to act. It needs to be.

A Story Beyond Competition
Recognition matters. The story matters more.
Stallion Kamyar®’s film journey has grown far beyond a single production or festival result. What began as an artistic portrait developed into an international story connecting equestrian culture, original music and a remarkable individual horse.
The awards document that journey. But the lasting value lies in what they helped reveal: Kamyar’s presence, character and ability to connect with audiences far beyond the breeding world.
